Scatologic Madness Possession & Brutal Decomposition - Split Tape (2011)

Scatologic Madness Possession is a goregrind band from Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil and Brutal Decomposition was a one-man goregrind/gorenoise project from Mexico. SMP is probably the better known of the two projects and has been playing raw, primitive, old-school goregrind/grindcore since 2002. Their sound is reminiscent of the 1990s classics, often doing covers of bands which reflect this well, like Napalm Death, Agathocles, Unholy Grave, Rot, Regurgitate, Gut, Haemorrhage, etc.

Brutal Decomposition isn't as well known and unfortunately, didn't seem to last very long. Their sound on this tape is a little bit different than that of the other releases (most of which sound like drum machine driven noisecore bursts, reminiscent of Spanish acts like Jangle or Potabilizadora but with splattery goregrind vocals. The material on this tape, however, could bee described as very raw, messy chaotic goregrind or bordering gorenoise. The works of the Dutch label, Mangled Maggot Stew, (who was run by Rogier Kuzee) comes to mind, baring many similarities to Trauma-Team!, early Intumescence or a slower Anal Birth with real drums.

In conclusion, I think this split is really awesome and a nice pairing of bands. The split was put out by Sonic Arse Tapes, an Italian D.I.Y. gore/noise/grind label ran by Andrea Laurenti until just recently. You should check out his new exciting label, Ecclesia Inferi Records, which is putting out a lot of gorenoise as of late

Hydropneumothorax & Septic Autopsy - Split E.P. (2012)

Hydropneumothorax is a one-man project from Cork, Ireland and Septic Autopsy is a one-man project from somewhere in Mexico. Both play old-school pathological goregrind with a DIY ethos. Also safe to say both share a considerably similar sound and influences; including Dead Infection, Carcass, Regurgitate, Pathologist, Necrony, Ulcerous Phlegm, Exulceration, Lymphatic Phlegm or Dysmenorrheic Hemorrage. Exceptionally dirty, gritty, disgusting, chaotic and of course very crushing drum-machine driven goregrind from both projects, playing in and further perfecting the classic vein of the genre. The split was not physically released; only made available for free download from the bands themselves and on the American Torn Flesh Records.

Septic Autopsy is a one-man goregrind project from somewhere in Mexico. The style is mostly but not entirely in the vein of the eerie and atmospheric goregrind that the infamous Lymphatic Phlegm gave birth to. To a lesser extent, seems one could pick out a bit of a Carcass vibe in some sections, almost having the same evil sounding death metal tinged that they had in the early days. Anyway, some very well constructed and executed darker goregrind, again highly recommend to those big on Lymphatic Phlegm. Here's their third E.P. which was made available on through free download from the band directly.

Carbonized Entrails - Dissection Of Infected Anatomy (2012)

Carbonized Entrails is a one-man pathological goregrind band from somewhere in Mexico. The band plays a digusting, pulverizing and heavily crust-influenced vein of the genre, extremely similar to later bands like Autophagia, Dysmenorrheic Hemorrhage, Feculent Goretomb, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Scatologic Madness Possession, Hyperemesis or Streptococcus Pyogenes. Always fantastic to hear more punk-influenced goregrind of this style in the current scene, but I do find this early material of the band to be a little underwhelming; the songs structures are very simplistic with little variation, although I'm not sure if this is the fault of the drum programming. CxHx is still very new and I strongly believe this band will get much better on coming releases, so look out for more noise from CxEx. Dissection Of Infected Anatomy is their second demo release and seems to be only available through free uploads floating on the internet.

Fetal Deformity is a pathological goregrind band from somewhere in Mexico. They play in the old-school vein of the genre and take major influence from classics like Dead Infection, Haemorrhage, Last Days Of Humanity or Regurgitate, as well as from newer bands like Autophagia, Oxidised Razor, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Dysmenorrheic Hemorrhage, etc. This is their first 3-song demo, self-released on CD-R in 2008.

Hipermenorrea is a pathological goregrind band from Zamora, Michoacan De Ocampo, Mexico. They play goregrind the old-school way and are reminiscent of bands like Dead Infection, General Surgery, Necrony, Pathologist, Regurgitate, etc. This is their first full-length CD and it was released by the Mexican Alarma Records. Copies are probably still available.
