Machetazo - Ultratumba (2006)

Machetazo is a legendary deathgrind band from A Coruña / Ferrol / Madrid, Spain. Formed in 1994, they mix and perfectly replicate the oldschool death metal and grindcore that arose during the late 80s and early 90s; taking major influence from bands like Carcass, Nihilist, Repulsion, Autopsy, Impetigo, Carnage, Grave, etc. Machetazo is undoubtedly one of the most authentic sounding bands out there who replicate this original incarnation of deathgrind. Ultratumba compiles all of the band's splits, EPs and various other smaller releases that came out before 2006 on one CD, and was released by the Spanish, Living Dead Society.

Bowel Stew is a death metal / goregrind band from Como, Italy; Hipermenorrea is a pathological goregrind from Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico; Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis is a pathological goregrind band from San Juan Del Rio, Quatero, Mexico. All three bands play a really thick and absolutely revolting style of the genre. The split was released by the Mexican, Alarma Records.

Kali - Kali EP (2009)

Kali is a powerviolence band from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. They play a considerably unique form of the genre that equally and tastefully mixes the relentless intensity of early Westcoast bands, like Crossed Out and No Comment, but also lean toward the experimental and weird tones of modern bands like Iron Lung. It's extremely visceral, spastic, dark, unsettling, dissonant, pissed off as fuck and I can say with confidence that I and many others would consider this some of the best of the genre in this generation. This recording was originally released as the band's demo, but was re-released on 7" by the German, Idoneum Bello Records.

Gruesome Bodyparts Autopsy is a pathological goregrind band from Talca, Chile. They play in the visceral and disgusting old-school vein of the genre, taking major influence from Regurgitate and Last Days Of Humanity, as well as newer bands like Autophagia, Dysmenorrheic Hemorrhage, Feculent Goretomb, Oxidised Razor, Pulmonary Fibrosis or Scatologic Madness Possession. Despite the kind of amateur sounding name and look of the logo, I can definitely assure you this is some seriously crushing, chaotic and straight-ahead goregrinding with a healthy layering of thick crusty tones and pure filth. This is the second EP of the band.

Blasted Pancreas is a pathological goregrind band from Hellas, Greece. Essentially, they play a very well done Lymphatic Phlegm worship; more dark, eerie and almost melodic sounding than noisy filth. So really, there's not a whole lot else to say; if you are a fan of Lymphatic Phlegm you will definitely like Blasted Pancreas. Carcinoma was the first full-length of the band.

Congenital Interior Defects is a gorenoise band from Sardigna, Italy; Acid Offal is a gorenoise band from an unknown location; Hyperemesis is a one-man pathological goregrind band from Campbell River, B.C., Canada; Trabecular Hepatocellular Carcinoma is a gorenoise project from somwhere in Italy. This is a fantastic split with some of the most sickeningly vomitous and noisy bands in the current scene. The split was released by the Italian, No Tomorrow Records, and was limited to 100 copies.
