Carbonized Entrails - Dissection Of Infected Anatomy (2012)
Carbonized Entrails is a one-man pathological goregrind band from somewhere in Mexico. The band plays a digusting, pulverizing and heavily crust-influenced vein of the genre, extremely similar to later bands like Autophagia, Dysmenorrheic Hemorrhage, Feculent Goretomb, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Scatologic Madness Possession, Hyperemesis or Streptococcus Pyogenes. Always fantastic to hear more punk-influenced goregrind of this style in the current scene, but I do find this early material of the band to be a little underwhelming; the songs structures are very simplistic with little variation, although I'm not sure if this is the fault of the drum programming. CxHx is still very new and I strongly believe this band will get much better on coming releases, so look out for more noise from CxEx. Dissection Of Infected Anatomy is their second demo release and seems to be only available through free uploads floating on the internet.

Brottskod 11 - Brottskod 11 E.P. (2012)
Brottskod 11 is a d-beat band from Östersund, Sweden. The band mostly sounds like and takes primary influence from classic Swedish d-beat / hardcore, like Anti-Cimex, Avskum, Disarm, Shitlickers, Totalitär, etc. However, Brottskod 11 has a considerably more raging and heavier sound, highly comparable to Uncurbed, Dischange / Meanwhile and other mid-late nineties Swedish d-beat. I'd even say they have some minor similarities to World Burns To Death. This self-titled EP was released on 7" by the Czech label, Phobia Records.

Total War - 8-Track Demo (2011)
Total War is a d-beat band from Vancouver, B.C., Canada. They play raw, straight forward and in the faced-paced tradition of early Scandinavian d-beat / hardcore, like Anti-Cimex, Crude S.S., Disarm, Shitlickers, Mob 47, No Security, Totalitär, etc. Catchy, yet a violent kick in the face. This is the first release for the band and was released by the Austrian label, Black Trash Records. You can contact the band at: distortvancouver AT hotmail DOT COM.

Column Of Heaven - Mission From God (2012)
Column Of Heaven are a powerviolence band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2011 after The Endless Blockade split up, two of the members decided to carry on playing more or less where TEB left off; taking classic Westcoast powerviolence, like Crossed Out, MITB, Neanderthal or No Comment, and adding a modern feel with plenty of crushing sludge and layered power electronics. On this second release from CoH, there's far more old-style death metal influence than there was previously but other than that, it has all the same musical components that TEB and the first CoH demo had. And as per the style of TEB and the prior CoH release, there are some exceptionally eerie samples layered with either noise or creepy melodies.
Thematically, there is a slight bit of a shift in gear from the more esoteric, mystical and philosophical, because this is a concept album of sorts which focuses entirely on the larger societal, political and cultural turn of events and impacts that serial killer, Peter Sutcliffe, left in the UK after his brutal killings in the 70s and 80s. Mission Of God was released on both tape (self-released) and 12" LP (on the American label, SPHC). Also, the LP came with a tape titled Soldiers Field which is basically the band doing purely power electronics and is also available on the bandcamp linked below.

Spawn From Deceit - At Least We Did Care (2011)
Spawn From Deceit is a grindcore band from Kokkola, Finland. Formed in 2009, the band plays along the lines of more 'modern' sounding grind; think of mostly newer death-metal-guitar-tone Scandinavian grind bands like Nasum, Rotten Sound, Sayyadina, Gadget, Afgrund, etc. However, SFD does not fit the confines of the sound entirely because they do come out having a unique, interesting and heavy sound with lots of fantastic crust punk and d-beat influence. Lyrically, SFD is undoubtedly a socially and politically aware band - not too far off from the style of the bands mentioned earlier - and I think it's done particularly well. At Least We Did Care is their first full-length release and I think there were no physical copies made, only free download available from the band's websites.
