Scatologic Madness Possession is a goregrind band from Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil and Brutal Decomposition was a one-man goregrind/gorenoise project from Mexico. SMP is probably the better known of the two projects and has been playing raw, primitive, old-school goregrind/grindcore since 2002. Their sound is reminiscent of the 1990s classics, often doing covers of bands which reflect this well, like Napalm Death, Agathocles, Unholy Grave, Rot, Regurgitate, Gut, Haemorrhage, etc.
Brutal Decomposition isn't as well known and unfortunately, didn't seem to last very long. Their sound on this tape is a little bit different than that of the other releases (most of which sound like drum machine driven noisecore bursts, reminiscent of Spanish acts like Jangle or Potabilizadora but with splattery goregrind vocals. The material on this tape, however, could bee described as very raw, messy chaotic goregrind or bordering gorenoise. The works of the Dutch label, Mangled Maggot Stew, (who was run by Rogier Kuzee) comes to mind, baring many similarities to Trauma-Team!, early Intumescence or a slower Anal Birth with real drums.
In conclusion, I think this split is really awesome and a nice pairing of bands. The split was put out by Sonic Arse Tapes, an Italian D.I.Y. gore/noise/grind label ran by Andrea Laurenti until just recently. You should check out his new exciting label, Ecclesia Inferi Records, which is putting out a lot of gorenoise as of late

THECORPSEINTHECRAWLSPACE is a goregrind project from Russellville, Arkansas, USA. TCITC has been kicking around the goregrind underground for over a decade now, spewing an authentic old-school, raw, filthy and utterly disgusting breed of goregrind heavily influenced, of course, by classics from the early 90s (I mean just read the title of the tape of which the band their paying a tribute to is obvious. So this tape is a collection of sorts, compiling past the past semi-prolific amount of releases the band has put out. It's inarguable to say that TCITC is one of the most noteworthy American goregrind bands to arise in the past while, even if they are largely unknown/under-appreciated.
Anyway, this tape was released by the mighty, Regurgitated Stoma Stew Productions, which is run by Bobby Maggard who plays in TCITC and a endless amount of other goregrind and gorenoise projects of which most get released on his label. If you're unfamiliar with the works of Bobby Maggard and RSSP, you just haven't stuck your head deep enough into the underground goregrind scene, because seriously, Bobby is a central figure within that scene. I STRONGLY encourage you to check out his label, write to him and order/trade for some of his releases because it's a solid D.I.Y. label of which there aren't too many left of.
Hyperemesis is a one-man goregrind project from Campbell River, BC, Canada and Human Jerky is a one-man goregrind project from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada. Both play a similar style of raw, crusty, old-school goregrind influenced by classics of the early 90s. Enjoyable split from some of the better current Canadian goregrind projects. Released by Mongolith Records, an interesting newer Canadian label specializing in gore/grind. It's run by Sam from Gerontophile, Forcefed Smegma, etc.
Hyperemesis is a one-man goregrind project from Campbell River, BC, Canada and Deep Fried Embryo is noisecore from Iowa, USA. Short but sweet noisy little split tape and a nice contrast of sounds from each project. Not sure of the year this came out but it was released on one of the many short lived and now defunct labels of Andy from Hyperemesis, Garbage Disposal Records. But don't worry, Andy's got a bunch of new D.I.Y. labels on the go. Also worth noting I recently found out how to / got the technology to rip tapes. This is the first tape rip from my collection, so expect more of my own tape rips soon (but be advised my tape collection isn't that great).
